ACCOMPLISHMENTS, AWARDS & RECOGNITIONS

NOVEMBER 2011

Blood Drive
Collected 49 pints of blood. Each pint saves 3 lives. That's over 149 lives saved! Special thanks to Chairman, Chris Craddock for his dedication and help during the drive!

Spaghetti Dinner
The October Spaghetti dinner helped raise over $400 for the council. It was great fraternal time and a great way for the church to get to know our council. Special thanks to Clay Keel and all the members of his committee as well as the Ladies Auxiliary for all their help!

OCTOBER 2011

Proudly Announcing that Council 13457 has received the coveted "Columbian Award" for 2011-2012 The Columbian Award is presented to councils that have shown an outstanding effort in conducting at least 20 Service Program activities (four in each category: Church, Community, Council, Family and Youth).

SEPTEMBER 2011

We have just completed another successful membership drive by welcoming three new Brothers into our order. This Fraternal year, all new members will receive a special certificate of the Blessed John Paul II. In celebration of the May 2011 beatification of Pope John Paul II, all sponsors will also receive a commemorative medallion featuring the pope's image from now through January 2012. Please join me in welcoming the following new members wherever you meet them:

Thomas Kohberger
Scott Orangio

JULY 2011

Brothers!

Your KofC Council 13457 sponsored an organizational meeting of the Hispanic Round Table at our June Business meeting. Pedro Mandujano was elected as the Table Liaison, and immediately began contacting leaders in the Hispanic community to begin building bridges of friendship, trust, and mutual understanding.

Within his first month on the job, Pedro identified a need within the Hispanic Men's CHRP group who were searching for a way to obtain 40 bilingual bibles for their upcoming July 15 - 17 retreat. Under the guidance of our Grand Knight, Mark Miklos, and scripture recommendation of Fr. Patrick Scully, preparations were made to purchase and present 40 Sagrada Familia Bibles bibles to the CHRP group on July 10th. A warm welcome was provided to the Knights in attendance, and a visual demonstration of our order's charitable works was captured in the accompanying photos.

Please join me in congratulating these Knights in Action, men who are actively working to help realize Fr. Eric's vision of "One Parish, One Community".

NOVEMBER 2010

As we enter the holiday season, please be extra mindful of wearing your membership badge to Mass and all church functions. This outward sign of faith, coupled with Archbishop Gregory's "Catholics Come Home" campaign, should remind us always to be gracious and welcoming to all we meet. The stranger we greet today may soon become the parishioner we welcome back into the church tomorrow.

AUGUST 2010

The Prince of Peace Council celebrated its largest First Degree ceremony in recent memory! Men are now coming in record numbers to the Knights in order to join with something larger than themselves. They are depending on you to provide leadership and an invitation to join. This coming November 6th and 7th, you will have the opportunity to step forward and give another Catholic man the gift of a lifetime. Recruit a new Knight today!

Please join in welcoming the following new members to our Council:

MAY 2010

Jack Knight is the latest Seminarian for the Archdiocese of Atlanta! He will be attending Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Maryland.

This is wonderful news as Jack as been a member of Prince of Peace since he was born, was very active in our Youth Group and is now a member of our Life Teen core team. Jack will be a great candidate for our Council RSVP program and would welcome our prayerful and financial support. Also let's remember our Seminarian that we have been sponsoring for the past few years is Tom Zahuta who will be ordained this June. Let's keep both of these men in our prayers.
MARCH 2010
